Welcome to Hilldale Baptist Church…Where Lives Connect! It’s my joy each week to extend that greeting on behalf of our church family, and I pray that you know we mean it.

If this is your first time to be with us, will you take the opportunity to complete the guest registration slip to the right and drop it in the offering plate in just a little while? You can expect us to give you a call or drop you an e-mail to say, “Thank you for being with us,” so we appreciate a good phone number or e-mail address.

I hope you’ll forgive me, but I’m feeling a bit like the Pointer Sisters this morning—“I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it!” I told you last week if we exceeded 1,000 in LIFE Groups again that it would be the first time since I’ve been your pastor that we’ve had more than a thousand in LIFE Groups for a month. We had 1,014 in LIFE Groups last week! Let’s keep that momentum rolling!

LIFE Groups are an integral part of our church life. I’ve said many times that the larger we get the smaller we must become. And it’s in our LIFE Groups that our “smallness” happens. The LIFE Group (LIFE stands for Love, Instruction, Fellowship, & Evangelism, by the way) is Hilldale Baptist Church organized and mobilized for hands-on ministry. So, if you’re not currently involved in one of our LIFE Groups, then you’re missing out on the heart of Hilldale. The folk at our Welcome Center would love to help you find your way to a LIFE Group today!

How’s your prayer and fasting journey going so far? We launched our 40-day challenge this past Wednesday and it continues through Sunday, March 11. I want you to know that as we do this together, I’m praying for you! I’m also seeking to be a source of inspiration and instruction through my blog (http://larryrobertson.blogspot.com) during these days. I hope you’ll join me there each day.

By the way, quite a few of our LIFE Groups are hosting pigskin parties tonight for the big game. These get-togethers are prime opportunities to invite friends to a gathering of believers in a non-threatening (you could even say “fun”) setting that builds bridges that God will use to bring people to Christ. The most effective evangelism happens in the context of relationships. Let’s not waste this opportunity tonight to build (or “build on”) relationships for God’s glory!

I’m really glad that you’re here. Remember, God loves you and so do I…

Online Giving

Bob Dylan said it well: "Times, They Are A-Changin."' Technology now allows church members to give their tithes and offerings online, and we’ve been doing this for a few years now. It’s a great way to systematically give.

During this year’s HOOPS season, we added the convenience of using one’s debit card to pay fees. By way of information, using one’s debit card to give a tithe or offering doesn’t net the same result as an EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) or sending a check via online banking.

When you use your debit card, the credit card company charges us a 3.5% fee. So, for example, the church would only receive $57.90 from a $60 donation. And the more you give, the higher the fee.

So while it is technically possible to give tithes and offerings using one’s debit card, we discourage it.

In the future, we must pass on the 3.5% fee to you when paying Hoops fees, camp costs, FLC dues, etc. So the convenience of paying a $300 student camp fee with your debit card, for example, will cost you $310.50.

Feel free to call the church office at 648-8031 for more information.

Our Schedule

  • Sunday Mornings are "The Church GATHERING." We gather in worship at our usual times.

  • Sunday Evenings are "The Church GOING."  Instead of gathering for an evening service, opportunities are available to go outside our church walls and "be the church" in our community.

  • Wednesday Evenings are "The Church GROWING." There is a  prayer meeting, choir rehearsal and classes for all ages.
