Paul was called to Hilldale Baptist in July of 2007 as the Community Impact Pastor.  He and his wife, Shelley (his high school sweet heart : ), have three children Jordan, Sidney, and Josey.  Originally from Savannah, Tennessee, the Scotts came to Hilldale from Venezuela where they served from 1999 – 2007 as missionaries with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. 

Paul was called into the ministry in 1992 and has served as a children's minister, college minister, and pastor.   As a missionary, Paul had the opportunity to help plant new churches, train national leaders, and do street preaching in unreached areas.   One of his favorite aspects of ministry was working with volunteer mission teams from U.S. churches.    

Paul graduated from Blue Mountain College in 1996 with a major in Biblical Studies.  He later received his Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  He and his family graduated from the Spanish Institute in San Jose, Costa Rica after a year in language preparation for their ministry in South America.

Paul enjoys water skiing, boating, basketball and weight lifting.  Paul has recently begun to hunt with his dad and son, but he admits that he is a very bad shot.
