Terry Brown

Church Health Pastor

Terry has been on the pastoral staff of Hilldale since September 2003. He and his wife, Jan, have been married for 27 years and have two grown children, Jennifer and Wesley.

As Church Health Pastor, Terry seeks to equip our fellowship (especially families) not only to survive but also to thrive. Church health is not easily defined, but primarily Terry works to ensure that our inward church life is strong and growing so that we can fulfill Christ’s commission for His church. Terry’s day-to-day responsibilities include giving leadership to Men’s, Women’s, Senior Adult’s, and Family ministries; Acts 1:8 Missions ministry; nursing home ministry; and pastoral care and counseling.

Prior to sixteen years of ministry experience serving in local churches and on the Alabama Baptist Staff Convention staff, Terry worked in hospital management. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a B.S. in Adult Education degree. He also received his Master of Arts in Religious Education (M.A.R.E.) degree from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

When he’s not with his family or at church or reading, Terry prefers to be hunting, fishing in a trout stream, renovating an old house, or working with wood.
